Behind the Machinima – Reading Warcraft: Adventuring Journal

Today in Behind the Machinima we’ll be discussing the latest WoW machinima series: Reading Warcraft.  Within, you’ll find Ron travelling all over to share Azerothian stories that he’s discovered with others.  This time others have visited Ron and he has taken it upon himself to inform them of one unfortunate adventurer.

Ron Explaining Stories to the "little ones"

Reading Warcraft: Adventuring Journal is based off an actual World of Warcraft item. There’s a treasure within Tanaan Jungle that contains the writings of an adventurer who wasn’t quite prepared.  This book is called Adventuring Journal.  Also, this new series is based off the 80s show: Reading Rainbow.  This explains the Adventuring Journal‘s opening and thumbnail which are somewhat based off LeVar Burton’s show.

As you know, Reading Warcraft‘s intro is based of Reading Rainbow, but did you know the rainbow seen is actually from WoW?  It’s the soon to be toy known as the Rainbow Generator.  It took many tries, but thanks to Short, Lunch, and Ave we got the in-game clip that I was able to use for the video.  Also, if you’re interested as to who the singer of Reading Warcraft’s intro is you can find her on fiverr as ernestajean.

Aside from ernestajean, there’s another new face seen in this video.  This would be the talented voice actor and my fellow guildie known as Ejunk.  Ejunk is the narrator of the actual in-game text.  If you enjoyed Ejunk’s performance as much as the rest of us then you can find him on Flickr or Instagram.  Furthermore, Short can be found in Adventuring Journal.  She’s the angry gnome and Ron.

Ron Questioning Something

Now after all of this I bet you’re wondering who is this “Ron” guy anyway?  Well the character will be better explained as time goes on.  However, the character is based on a real life person.  This real life person is someone who had great impact on Short’s life and my own.  For privacy purposes his name is close to Ron, but this man was at one time our high school art teacher.  He taught us lighting. shading, and how to see beyond what may or may not be there.  Short and I could go on forever about our time with Ron.  Perhaps you day we’ll transcribe it all down for you to see.
